Red-Winged Hawk Nest * San Jose, California USA

  Introduction Within populated areas, the red-winged hawk is losing its habitat. This particular nest is located in the middle of suburbia. The land is as yet undeveloped, although its future is in jeopardy.  
  Location The red-winged hawk nest is in San José, California, USA. Called "The Capital of Silicon Valley," San José is at the southern end of San Francisco Bay.  
  Area Description
The nest is at the top of the highest eucalyptus tree in a grove located on a piece of land owned by a local water company. The land is bordered on the west by the Guadalupe River and on the east by Thousand Oaks Park.
