8) Lucid Mutual: Harmonic Notes

For the 19th month of the 1985-1987 Lucidity Project, the goal of the waking egos was, "Work on an Inner City project." The dreaming selves decided to have fun instead.

Water everywhere. We are wading through it when someone falls in. I am concerned. This is bad. Feel guilty. Suddenly I realize there is no reason to feel guilty. It just doesn't matter.

Then we are all wading and splashing and getting our clothes wet. I keep telling myself gleefully, "It doesn't matter!"

I'm with P and M in a car. P drives and he goes around a corner too fast. The car goes over the edge of the road and way out over the water. While falling, M, P and I are not at all panicked. We float a long time. I say how we must leave the windows up until we're mostly underwater and then roll them down and get out.

Somehow the car ends up going over to an island and we're all OK. I pull the car up on the beach.

Later, we discuss the incident and as I'm telling someone about it, I realize it had to be a dream. I also realize that I'm still dreaming because I hadn't awoken since the car incident. I try to get M, P, and K to realize that we're all dreaming. They're not convinced by my logic about the car, so I float around the room hanging upside down some of the time. I see they're still not convinced.

"Well, if you can fly you'll know its a dream," I say to tell and take K's hand. We try to run and fly but achieve just a brief levitation.

I become lucid just as I throw something off the end of a walkway into the sea. I look around in all directions and see nothing but calm ocean in every direction to the horizon line. As I turn around to return the direction I came, I look down at my feet and notice that the walkway is only visible for a few yards. Then it disappears into the ocean.

I think how strange it all is. What in the world brought me here? What did I throw away? Where or how do I get back?

I have no fear, so I think to myself, "What fun!" I'll just fly back. So I joyfully begin running on the water and gradually take off and fly.

I am flying lucid over high mountains by the sea. I look down on the water which is very transparent. Underneath I can see a huge, ornately decorated red old-fashioned shoe the size of a house.

Then I am at sea level sort of watching a movie of a city. There is a series of beautiful white bridges with graceful archways towering above me from where I sit on the water. Some boats come down the river and do figure-eights in the harbor.

The scene changes to a broad city street where several people including myself are skating down the street in and out of cars and buses. Then the blue-grey mountains surrounding the city start to move up and down at different rates like a moving stage set doing a dance.
