Linda As The Wind, 9/5/93

Three times I returned to lucid dreaming. Each time I talked with a group of people. The first and last scenes were indoors; the middle was an outdoor grassy backyard. It had a large wooden shed built against a fence fronted by a huge hedge.

As usual, I was asking folks for their names. In the first dream, a woman with longish, curly black hair and a red dress replied to my question, "I can't tell you that," as if her name were some Great Cosmic Secret.

In the second dream, a black haired man responded for himself and his nearest companions, "Dave...and the other two are Tom and Burt." I mused that those names seemed common enough.

The entire group was coed. A couple of the people talked with me in the normal way. A few did not speak; they seemed to be in a trance and unaware of me. One or two others seemed to be able to hear me, but could not see me. I especially remember one light haired man: he cocked his head in my direction but his eyes kept wandering around, never focused on me.

So when I became lucid the third time, I thought I'd try an experiment. I rose up to a sitting position from lying on my back in a bed. There was a group of people surrounding the bed. I said "Hi!" to the nearest young man and he replied, "Hello." We talked a bit and then I asked him, "When you look at me, what do you see?"

He paused, took a deep breath and responded enthusiastically, "The wind!"

The wind? I look like the wind?!? Well, I did feel a little floaty, as if I were suspended less than an inch above the bed. So I brought my left hand in front of me to check to see if I had a recognizable body. My hand seemed normal enough. But it did look a bit translucent around the edges.
